Preferred Pros — Advocate Terms
Version 2.0 · Effective September 28, 2026
1. What Preferred Pros Is
Preferred Pros is a free feature of the platform operated by Local Link LLC (“Local Link”) that lets professionals who routinely recommend home service providers (“Advocates”) create and share a public page listing the Local Link service partners they recommend. The page is a standing list that anyone with the link can open; it is not a referral of any particular client to any particular partner.
Clients who open a Preferred Pros page can view the Advocate’s list and book services through Local Link. An Advocate may add a short note about any listed partner. Notes are optional, and a page without them is complete.
2. No Compensation, No Discounts, No Obligation
Preferred Pros is free and uncompensated. Local Link does not pay Advocates for recommendations, and Advocates do not pay Local Link for hosting their page. No fees, commissions, credits, bonuses, or other compensation of any kind are exchanged between Local Link and Advocates in connection with the Preferred Pros feature. Advocates do not receive compensation from the service partners they list, and service partners do not pay to be listed.
Service partners don’t offer special discounts or other special terms through Preferred Pros. A client who books through a list books on the same prices and terms as any other client, and bookings that come through a list carry Local Link’s ordinary platform fee and terms for the service partner.
Being on a list commits no one to anything: not the Advocate, not the service partner, and not the client.
3. Independence of Parties
Advocates are independent professionals acting in their own capacity. Service partners listed on a Preferred Pros page are independent businesses operating on the Local Link platform. Local Link is a technology platform that hosts the Preferred Pros feature; Local Link does not employ or control either Advocates or service partners. No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created between any of these parties through the Preferred Pros feature.
4. Notes Are the Advocate’s Own Opinion
A note on a Preferred Pros page is the Advocate’s own opinion, not Local Link’s. Anyone who opens the page sees the note under the partner it describes, signed with the Advocate’s name. A note is not a guarantee of service quality, timeliness, or outcome.
Local Link checks each note before it appears. Some notes are held for Local Link’s team to review first, and Local Link may decline, hide, or remove a note, including after a service partner flags it. Local Link does not verify the statements in a note and does not endorse them. Local Link vets service partners through its own independent process, which is separate from any Advocate’s recommendation.
A note may be up to 200 characters of plain text, with no links or contact details. Notes may not mention prices or discounts, licenses or insurance, promised results, payments or gifts, or anyone’s personal traits or appearance, including characteristics protected by law. The same rules apply to a page’s headline and introduction.
5. Bookings and Client Information
When a client books a service partner through an Advocate’s page, the service partner is told that the booking came from that Advocate’s Preferred Pros list.
The Advocate is not told when a client books, and receives no booking information: no names, dates, services, amounts, or booking counts. Local Link does not share client information with Advocates. A service partner may choose to mention a client in a thank-you (section 6); that disclosure is the service partner’s own, made on its own responsibility.
6. Thank-Yous and Replies
A service partner may send one thank-you to the Advocate for each booking that came through the Advocate’s list. The Advocate receives the thank-you exactly as the service partner wrote it; Local Link adds nothing about the booking or the client, so whether to mention a client is the service partner’s choice. Thank-yous are checked before they are sent, for links, length, and offers of money or gifts.
The Advocate may reply once. A reply is checked like a note, must not include details about any client, and goes to the service partner as written. Thank-yous and replies are not a messaging service, and neither may offer money, gifts, or anything else of value.
7. Service Partners: Notes, Flags and Leaving a List
A service partner can see every list it is on, and the notes written about it, from Preferred Pros in the Local Link partner portal. A service partner may flag a note it believes is inaccurate or inappropriate; a flagged note is hidden while Local Link reviews it.
A service partner may leave any list at any time, from the partner portal or from the link in the email that told it about the list. Leaving takes effect immediately, and the Advocate cannot add that service partner back. Leaving a list does not affect a service partner’s standing on the Local Link platform.
8. Invitations
An Advocate may invite a business that is not on Local Link. Local Link sends the invitation on the Advocate’s behalf, and the Advocate does not receive the business’s contact details. If the business joins Local Link and is approved, it is added to the Advocate’s list, and it may leave the list at any time. The recipient of an invitation may ask not to receive further invitations at that address, and Local Link will not send another invitation to it.
9. Advocate Responsibilities
Advocates agree to: (a) provide accurate information about themselves and their professional background; (b) only recommend service partners with whom they have genuine personal or professional experience; (c) not use the Preferred Pros feature to mislead clients or misrepresent the nature of their relationship with any service partner; (d) not use the invite feature to send unsolicited or excessive communications; (e) comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards governing their profession, including any disclosure requirements; and (f) not include personal information about any client in a note or a reply.
10. Moderation and Removal
Local Link reserves the right to remove or modify any Advocate account, Preferred Pros page, note, thank-you, reply, or listed partner at its sole discretion, including for violations of these terms, the Local Link Terms of Service, or applicable law. Local Link may also remove content that is misleading, defamatory, or inconsistent with the platform’s standards.
11. Limitation of Liability
Local Link provides the Preferred Pros feature “as is.” Local Link is not responsible for the accuracy of Advocate notes, the quality of services provided by listed partners, or any disputes between Advocates, service partners, or clients. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local Link’s liability in connection with the Preferred Pros feature is limited to the same extent as set forth in the Local Link Terms of Service.
12. Changes to These Terms
Local Link may update these terms at any time. Each version carries its number and effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Preferred Pros feature after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Questions: support@locallink.com.
These terms supplement the Local Link Terms of Service, which also govern your use of Preferred Pros, including governing law, venue, dispute resolution, and severability. If the two conflict on a Preferred Pros matter, these terms control.
